Electrocatalytic oxidation of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in aqueous solution at a nickel electrode.
This study utilized the electrocatalytic characteristics of nickel electrode to perform degradation of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) in aqueous solution. Lab experiments were conducted in a spiltless bath type cell equipped with a nickel electrode as working electrode, a platinum wire as counter electrode, and an Ag/AgCl electrode as reference electrode. Effects of controlled potential, suppor...
متن کاملElectrocatalytic Oxidation of Glucose at Gold Nanoparticle-modified PFC electrodes in an Alkaline Solution
The electrocatalytic oxidation of glucose at Au nanoparticle-modified PFC electrodes has been studied using voltammetry technique in a (5 mM glucose + 0.1 M NaOH) solution. The PFC electrode didn't show any activity in the potential of interest (i.e. −0.8 V to 0.8 V). However, a very interesting positive catalytic effect was observed upon modification of the electrode surface with gold nanopart...
متن کاملVisible photoluminescence of polyoxoniobates in aqueous solution and their high electrocatalytic activities for water oxidation
The photoluminescence of four polyoxoniobates [Nb6O19], [Nb10O28], [Ti2Nb8O28] and [H2Si4Nb16O56] was observed, and its origin was revealed in the view of molecular orbital by means of the computational method. The photoluminescence is originated from singlet transitions, and the calculated values agree well with the experimental data. The results indicate that the size of clusters and the fore...
متن کاملThe Effect of PtRuIr Nanoparticle Crystallinity in Electrocatalytic Methanol Oxidation
Two structural forms of a ternary alloy PtRuIr/C catalyst, one amorphous and one highly crystalline, were synthesized and compared to determine the effect of their respective structures on their activity and stability as anodic catalysts in methanol oxidation. Characterization techniques included TEM, XRD, and EDX. Electrochemical analysis using a glassy carbon disk electrode for cyclic voltamm...
متن کاملElectrocatalytic oxidation of n-propanol to produce propionic acid using an electrocatalytic membrane reactor.
An electrocatalytic membrane reactor assembled using a nano-MnO2 loading microporous Ti membrane as an anode and a tubular stainless steel as a cathode was used to oxidize n-propanol to produce propionic acid. The high efficiency and selectivity obtained is related to the synergistic effect between the reaction and separation in the reactor.
